A room excavated from a marble vein.
The design treats the stage as a cut through stone: a constructed interior suspended between monument, domestic room and exposed theatrical apparatus.
Mass, reflection, rupture and contamination are used to hold the unstable world of the play. The traverse arrangement places the audience on either side of the fracture, making the space feel less entered than uncovered.
